Cowboys rookie sensation DeMarco Murray, an American Sports star is likely out for the season after suffering a right-ankle fracture and sprain in the first quarter Sunday against the New York Giants. Murray stayed down after an eight-yard gain and had to be helped off the field.

He appeared to be putting little to no weight on his right leg and was taken straight to the locker room. Moments later, the Cowboys announced Murray was being taken off for observation on his right ankle and that his return was "uncertain." Midway through the third quarter, the extent of Murray's injury was disclosed. Murray suffered the injury with 4:54 left in the first quarter as the Cowboys were driving for a touchdown. He had rushed five times for 25 yards at the time of the injury and was replaced by Felix Jones.

It seems as if Murray's season this year is likely get over with his ankle fracture. Murray suffered the injury with 4:54 left in the first quarter as the Cowboys were driving for a touchdown.

A second-round pick out of Oklahoma, Murray came into the game as the Cowboys' leading rusher with 872 yards and two touchdowns. In his first game as a starter, Murray set the Cowboys' single-game rushing record with 253 yards against the St. Louis Rams. He started because of an ankle injury to Jones and kept the starting job by rushing for 74, 139 and 135 yards in his next three sports.
