In front of thousands of fans, President Barack Obama strolled to the pitcher's mound and tossed a baseball to Washington Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, officially launching the team's baseball season.

He may not be a sports star, but Obama sure got the crowds cheering and standing on their feet as the MLB season started.

The President was present at the match for three innings and till he was there, the Nationals were leading 1-0 but after he left, Nats pitchers gave up 11 runs.
