Online viewers watch Saints triumph

12 percent of those who were watching Super Bowl last year also kept one eye at the web. As the New Orleans Saints earned their first Super Bowl win, the time which the viewers spent online was a meager 24 minutes this year. But what is also remarkable this year is the online sports news that most people who visited the websites were'nt visiting sports related sites during Super Bowl. While it was true that only 18% of those on the internet visited sports websites, most of the users actually checked mails, searched stuff and spent a large amount of time on social networks. It was deduced that Facebook was the most popular destination for Super Bowl viewers this year.

Super Bowl Player

The evidence of the above fact can be given by looking up the facts. Facebook and Google Search were the two sites where the traffic was 23% and 21%. The simultaneous minutes per person were maximum15 minutes per person for Facebook.

It is also credible online sports news that the top website categories visited by Super Bowl viewers were general interest portals and communities for example google.com, AOL.com and Yahoo.com, which was up to 54.20%. Hence only a few online viewers watched Saints triumph. It can be noted that Indianapolis Colts were defeated by the New Orleans Saints by a score 31-17 in the Super Bowl. Saints quarter back completed 32 of 39 passes for 288 yards and two touch downs and was named the Super Bowl MVP.
